LEARN ABOUT BUSINESS EMAIL
What types of business email are available - and which one is right for your business?
There are three types of email used today by serious business:
By far the most popular business messaging software, Microsoft Outlook/Exchange has over 50% and growing of the corporate market. It gives users email, calendar, contacts and file-sharing that is automatically 'synced up' and available anywhere - on the desktop, by Web mail or on a wireless device like a BlackBerry.

BASIC WEB MAIL
POP or IMAP mail is the basic flavor of email that became popular in the 1980s. It gives you an email address with your own domain name (yourname@yourbusinessname.com) but does not allow shared calendars, contacts and files, or wireless email. OTHER PROPRIETARY EMAIL SOLUTIONS
Some companies use older email systems, such as Lotus Notes or Novell. These systems offer some of the functionality of Outlook/Exchange, but have fallen behind in terms of user-friendliness and features. They are also not compatible with Microsoft Outlook, the preferred email tool of most companies.
